20 more stores for Virgin Media in 2008
Virgin Media is hoping to at least double its standalone store portfolio in 2008.
The retailer plans to open 20 new stores between February and September. No sites have been confirmed, although the stores will be located across the UK and will create around 120 new jobs.
Paul Williams, Virgin Media’s head of retail, said the company is planning to open between 20 and 30 new stores in total throughout the year. ‘We are just building on the success of the stores we launched during the course of the year, stepping up the pace of the rollout,’ he said.
Virgin Media opened its 13th store in Newcastle last week, which will be the final new store for 2007. Its other store locations include Aberdeen, Cardiff, Liverpool and Gateshead.
