T-Mobile aims for Eastern Europeans
T-Mobile is looking to capitalise on the large numbers of migrants in the UK with a new 5p-per-minute tariff, which will allow its pay-as-you-go customers to call Eastern Europe.
The ‘Eastern Europe Pass’ will allow calls to landlines in Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia and Slovakia from 5p per minute. Calls to mobiles will cost 15p, with a minimum call charge of 10p.
It is estimated that there are over 600,000 Poles in the UK, according to the home office minister Tony McNulty last year.Although there are no exact figures as most migrants from Eastern Europe are from within the EU, it is believed there are over one million in the UK.
