Motorola signs Beckham for RAZR campaign

Motorola is about to embark on two big advertising promotions next year in an attempt to recover from a dismal 2007.

David Beckham will front the campaign for the new RAZR2 Lux and will be seen in both male and female fashion magazines, including FHM and Cosmopolitan. The handset will be available from mid-December.

Another campaign – for the female-orientated U9 in Pink and Purple – will feature in women’s magazines and websites such as Facebook and YouTube.

The campaign for the U9 is based on a ‘Pink v Purple’ theme. A spokesperson for Motorola said: ‘In the UK market, where pink and purple will be all the rage in 2008, we expect the product to sell well.’

Motorola has struggled for market share recently and is focusing on a strong 2008 to get back on track.
