TMTI goes green
Technical support company TMTI will be focusing on going green next year by developing a system that removes the need for handbooks when buying electrical goods by making the information available either on disc or data key. TMTI will begin approaching manufacturers next year to try to get them to start using the system.
TMTI MD Crispin Thomas said: ‘We will be going to manufacturers and networks for various different products and say, “remove the handbook, make your box smaller, save paper”. We have done a deal with Carbon Management and for every five boxes we take the handbook out of, we will plant a tree as well.’
The company has also sent out mobile video Christmas messages this year to 700 people in the industry instead of traditional cards to cut down on paper and is planting 25 trees instead of sending out gifts.
TMTI was set up to provide bespoke outsourced customer support for operators, manufacturers and retailers for all mobile devices and Bluetooth accessories.
