Cashback retailer writes to customers over debts
Cashback retailer Chatterbox has written to its customers promising it is doing its best to pay their outstanding cashbacks after running into financial problems.
The latest letter, sent over the weekend, reassures customers that efforts are being made to resolve the situation, as well as shifting the blame on to the networks.
The London-based company says it has paid 87% of its customers and it still owes under £1m to 4,000 customers. Chatterbox first wrote to customers about their cashback payments back in September to explain why there had been a ‘serious delay’ in making the payments.
Chatterbox MD Kevin Patel said that since May it has not taken on any new customers, concentrating instead on trying to pay existing customers. The letter blames Chatterbox's predicament on an unnamed network, which urged it to base cashback on '40% redemption'.
