O2 sets a new benchmark by announcing the refresh of the O2 Active portal. The update reflects the changing nature of portal services with the new layout allowing O2 Active to operate more like the internet.
For the first time, the look and feel of the portal will be the same whether viewed on a 2G or a 3G handset. Click distances have been reduced, and content can be easily discovered via search links on every page.
New personalisation options on O2 Active will place customers’ most-visited sites at the top of their homepage. Additionally, within each portal menu, customers will see content most relevant to their browsing habits. For example someone who regularly views ‘Sport’ content to check football results, headlines and transfers will see this information as soon as they enter the sports area of the portal.
O2’s head of content Grahame Riddell: ‘The O2 Active refresh is an important evolutionary step that will embrace the best of the internet that will lead to further advances in the look and feel of the mobile portal.’
O2 Active provides access to a wide range of rich and compelling content from some of the UK’s top content brands, including Sky Sports, Facebook, the Sun, Channel 4, ITV and more. The aim of the refresh is to provide the best possible customer experience as the volume of quality content and services increases.
