Jag to extend Welsh retail estate
Jag Communications is expected to complete the takeover of the second of three Cymru Connections stores on Thursday, taking its total number of stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to 143.
Cymru Connections reassigned the lease of its Pontypridd store to Jag in October last year, and subject to landlord’s approval the takeover of Cymru Connection’s Blackwood branch on Thursday will take Jag's Welsh store count to nine.
Managing director John George said he was encouraged by Jag Communication’s increased presence in Wales. He said: ‘Jag’s recent growth has increased the span of our operations, and enabled us to reach a broader demographic than ever before - it’s meant a lot of work for everyone involved, but we’re rising to the challenge.’
Group operations manager Scott Fulfitt added: ‘It is often cheaper to buy an existing store than to open a brand-new one, so we are very much in the market for new branches.’
