PC World boosted by Vodafone dongle sales
PC World has reported brisk trading of Vodafone USB dongles since the products arrived in the retailer’s stores and website over the last few months.
Vodafone is the latest operator to join the rush for USB dongles in the consumer market, following reported strong sales at T-Mobile and 3. Vodafone had previously focused its efforts on pushing datacards and USB dongles to the business market.
A spokesman for PC World said the product has been selling ‘extremely well’ because ‘it appeals to both our consumer-facing and our b2b businesses’.
Alec Howard, Vodafone UK’s head of enterprise data connectivity, said: ‘Dongles have now been publicised to a point where people know about them and they want them.
‘They are an unsaturated market and represent a great opportunity.’
