Vyke buys UK-based Callserve for £2.9m
VoIP provider Vyke yesterday announced a £2.9m deal to acquire UK internet call service company Callserve Communications Limited.
Skype rival Vyke hopes the deal will help it make greater in-roads into the UK VoIP market by channelling Callserve’s existing customer base onto Vyke, and through access to Callserve’s African and Middle Eastern distribution network.
Last year Callserve generated revenue of £8.5m.
Vyke's executive chairman Tommy Jensen said: ‘The UK market represents a very exciting opportunity for Vyke, and the addition of Callserve provides us with key wholesale VoIP network infrastructure and additional domestic operational resources.’
The deal is expected to be concluded by 30 January.
