3 bosses today said it is business as usual at the firm’s Indian call centres despite a major internet blackout on the sub continent.
Internet services were today disrupted in large parts of the Middle East and India following damage to two undersea cables in the Mediterranean.
There was disruption to 70% of the nationwide network in Egypt, and India suffered up to 60% disruption.
Major UK firms such as British Airways said that call centres were affected by the outage.
But mobile operator 3, which employs thousands of people at its call centres in Mumbai and Pune in India, said it was business as usual with its services completely unaffected.
A 3 spokesman said: ‘Our connection to our call centres is working 100%.
‘We ensure that we have a range of options to keep connected with our call centres.
‘We are not affected in any way. It’s business as usual.’
