Sony Ericsson fixes W580 problems
Sony Ericsson says it has fixed the problems that affected the W580 handset, and that the handset is now fit for purpose.
Mobile received numerous complaints about the device, most of which were made in December. The problems stemmed from the keypads cracking, which quickly led to a complete deterioration of the handset.
But dealers Mobile spoke to have confirmed Sony Ericsson’s claim that the problem has been fixed. A spokeswoman for the manufacturer said:
‘At the time (that the fault began to occur) we put additional screening in place in the manufacturing facilities and changed the manufacturing process.
’Any phones with the defect that had been sold would be immediately replaced if people called our customer services team. And we are now confident now about the quality of the W580 being sold in the UK.’
