Nokia opens UK flagship store
The eagerly anticipated Nokia flagship UK store finally opens its doors this week.
Pictured is a peak inside the store, which is due to open on Friday lunchtime (8 February). The store will focus on customer experience rather than sales.
The Finnish handset giant hopes the 600m2 Regent Street store will address the dearth of live mobiles on display in the high street and give customers the best opportunity to try out its handsets.
The store has been split into three zones, including a live product area, a ‘solutions zone’ designed to showcase mobile functions and applications, and a ‘support zone’ where customers can set up their new device and try out any new mobile enhancements.
Nokia boss Simon Ainslie said that while he hopes the store will not operate at a loss, the emphasis would be on educating customers rather than selling to them.
He added: ‘We don’t see them as customers, we see them as guests.’
The store will initially only offer Orange and Vodafone contracts.
