T-Mobile joins Sim-only bonanza
T-Mobile joined the Sim-only contract market this week, as it emerged that more than 100,000 Sim-only deals were sold in December alone.
Experts say Sim-only deals could soon account for 10% of all contract sales.
T-Mobile is offering 200 minutes and 300 texts for £15 per month with its ‘Sim15’ tariff.
O2, Virgin and Orange have been the most active players in pushing Sim-only deals, as they look to add customers without the heavy cost of handset subsidy.
It is believed there were 30,000 Sim-only sales every week in December across the market. It has now dropped down to between 10,000 and 12,000 per week.
