400,000 iPhones found in China
Over 400,000 unlocked iPhones are being used on China Mobile’s network, despite the handset only being available in the UK, US, France and Germany.
This means that a total of 10% of all iPhones sold have found their way back to the country where they were made, according to market research company In-Stat.
Apple’s Steve Jobs announced recently the company has sold a total of four million iPhones since its launch last summer.
AT&T in the US claims to have shifted two million iPhones, but sales in Europe have been much slower. O2 in the UK has been secretive about numbers but industry estimates haven’t exceeded 200,000.
