O2 launches Bluebook back up service

O2 has announced the launch of Bluebook, a free service that backs up customer’s personal information on their phones and saves it online.

The operator says the service will ‘take the stress out of worrying about losing valuable information,’ by duplicating all phone numbers and automatically saving every text and photo message on the internet.

Customers are given an online tutorial to help them set up their accounts. The service also offers a blogging service called Blueblog, where customers can document their daily lives using the photos and messages saved directly from their mobile.

Sally Cowdry, marketing director at O2 UK said, ‘With text messages replacing letters and camera phones replacing photo albums, people's memories are increasingly going digital.

‘We have created Bluebook with these insights in mind to offer customers a simple but effective way of backing up everything on their mobile and enabling them to edit and share their memories.’
