Free Wi-Fi a hit with East Coast rail passengers
Rail passengers on the East Coast Mainline have jumped at the chance of some free Wi-Fi with the number of users tripling since the £4.95 an hour fee was scrapped.
National Express decided to get rid of the charge when it took over the East Coast franchise from GNER in December last year.
The switch to free usage saw the number of customers rise from 30,000 a month to 100,000 in January.
