Acer to acquire E-Ten in a £146 million deal

Acer, Taiwanese PC vendor will acquire E-Ten Information Systems, the company announced today. The company said mobile phones were behind the £146 million take over. E-Ten has released a number of devices, such as the Windows Mobile based Glofiish as well as GPS navigation devices.

The deal is pending shareholders’ vote and approval of government regulation. The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter.
