Nokia sponsors new Channel 4 show
Nokia has struck a deal with Channel 4 to sponsor a new television series called ‘The Nokia Green Room’.
The deal is designed to publicise Nokia’s focus on music, following the release of its Music Store program, as well as MP3 orientated handsets such as the N82.
The 30-minute show will play out twice on weekend mornings on T4 and late night on 4Music. It will run for 15 weeks from April.
The programme mixes contemporary music acts in the ‘Green Room’, a specially created backstage area with hidden mics and remote cameras filming the interaction between acts as they wait to perform live on stage.
The Nokia Green Room will be co-funded by Nokia and Channel 4. It aired as a pilot on Channel 4 last year, achieving a 5.8% share with over 600,000 viewers and featured acts such as Girls Aloud, The Feeling and Orson.
