Motorola phones make a return to 3's stores
After an 18-month absence Motorola handsets will make a return to the network 3, with the RAZR2 V9 available in 3 stores from 13 March.
The addition of 3 as another sales channel will be a shot in the arm to Motorola, which has toyed with the idea of cutting its struggling handset division after it revealed in January that sales in 2007 had fallen by 33% compared to the previous year.
Motorola’s general manager Jim Michel said: ‘Together, we have great expectations for how the product will perform in retail and are looking forward to building a portfolio of Motorola products available on 3 in the future.’
3’s director of products Fergal Walker added: ‘Motorola’s renewed focus on powerful 3G handsets like the RAZR2 V9 means we can welcome them back into 3’s growing portfolio.'
Motorola staff have started visiting 3 stores to help reintroduce the Motorola brand to staff and customers.
