Ian Driver has taken the head of sales job at Virgin Mobile, re-uniting him with former One2One colleague, and now head of indirect sales at Virgin Mobile Rob Shardlow.
Driver quit his last position at O2 in November of general manager of channel execution. His role meant taking products to market.
He replaces Jamie Chisholm, and starts his new job this Monday after an eight-year spell at O2.
Driver is one of the senior management from the early days at One2One (now T-Mobile), which are still in the industry. Also in the One2One ‘class of 1995’ are John Barton and Steve Fraser (now at LG), Mark Stansfeld (exiting sales director at O2), Sue Wheeler (also at O2), Sal D’Angelo (recently left Sony Ericsson to join Microsoft), and, of course, Rob Shardlow.
Virgin Media also confirmed the appointment of Neil Birkett as CEO of the Virgin Media group last week.
