Mobile retail scores low in consumer trust survey
Mobile retailers and phone companies are close to the bottom of the list of customers’ perception on trust, according to a survey carried out by data security specialist, GB Group.
Only 9% of respondents trust the way mobile companies treat and respect their personal data, the result show. Confidence in mobile companies is at a similar level to that in gambling companies and social networking sites.
The mobile industry hasn’t got a clean reputation, and observers from outside the sector are picking up on its shortcomings. Channel 4’s Dispatches program is currently investigating miss-selling, cashback and commission biasing sales advice in mobile retail.
