Ex-Orange man at Shazam
Music-tagging service Shazam has appointed a new director of product marketing.
Dominic Pride (pictured), former head of music development at Orange, established his own mobile phone music consultancy service for clients like Sony, BMG UK, and MTV before he joined the operator.
Pride said Shazam was focused on improving the transition between hearing something, a track, identifying it, buying it and listening to it.
He said: ‘We’re in a new phase of the market where tools for music discovery will be valued by customers. Music recognition will become a must-have feature, just like a music player is now.’
