100,000 iPhone application development kits downloaded
Apple announced that more than 100,000 copies of its iPhone software development kit (SDK) were downloaded since 6 March.
The free beta version of the software developer kit gives developers the same Application Programming Interface and tools that Apple uses to create the native applications for the iPhone.
Content creators can sell the applications they make using the SDK on the iPhone App Store for 70% revenue share.
A further release of the SDK is expected in June, when Apple will release the final iPhone 2.0 software, including the iPhone SDK and new enterprise features as a free software update for all iPhone customers.
