‘One in 10 UK contracts involve cashback’
A ‘significant minority’ of customers struggle to claim their cashback, according to research conducted by Ofcom into the size of the market and the scale of the problem.
The research, conducted in November last year, found that one out of every 10 contracts signed up involved a cashback deal.
And the regulator found that 14% of those customers found it difficult to claim their cashback.
While 14% struggled to claim their cashback, 50% said the process had been very easy and 29% said it had been fairly easy.
The research also found that cashback deals were particularly popular among ethnic minorities.
Some 21% of ethnic minority customers are signed up to contracts involving cashback deals.
