Indian company interested in acquiring Motorola
Motorola’s mobile business could end up in India instead of China. Indian web and electronics company, Videocon has expressed interest in the struggling handset manufacturer.
The company’s board attended a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the acquisition strategy, according to reports.
Videocon is interested in selling mobile phones through its consumer durables retail stores in India. The company is looking to enter the mobile industry in a big way; it’s also building its own GSM network.
The Indian mobile market is growing at an explosive rate, adding more than 8 million subscribers every month.
