Carphone Warehouse boosts its virtual network brand
Carphone Warehouse has launched three new Talkmobile tariffs, which were sold in stores from Tuesday.
One of the offers, Talkmobile World, is an international call Sim card, which appears to be designed to compete with the Phones 4u-distributed Lebara Sim card. It charges 4p-5p per minute for calls to a large range of countries.
Another offer, Talkmobile Control, is a similar deal to T-Mobile’s U-Fix tariff. When the user runs out of minutes, the phone needs to be topped up like a pay-as-you-go deal. The 18-month contract costs £10 per month on a Sim-only deal, or £15 per month with a handset.
Meanwhile, a third tariff, Talkmobile Prepay, charges 15p for the first three minutes and 10p per minute after that.
Vodafone is Carphone’s wholesale network partner for Talkmobile, but has an arrangement with T-Mobile for its Fresh prepay proposition.
