Asda looks to smaller stores as it steps up fight for prepay
Asda Mobile has turned its attention to its smaller stores after expanding its presence into all of its large UK outlets.
The supermarket’s mobile range can now be found in 280 of the 330 Asda stores in England and Northern Ireland.
Asda Mobile’s buying manager, Craig Thirkill, told Mobile that growth will continue as far as possible. He said: ’While there are still 50 stores that we’re not in, there is still room for expansion. It would be nice to get into every store.
Thirkill also claims Asda Mobile, which was launched in April 2007, has easily surpassed its initial target of 100,000 customers.
