David Dorman, former CEO of US operator AT&T has been named as Motorola’s non-executive chairman. After three decades in telecoms, Dorman will start in his new position in May after the former CEO, Ed Zander retires.
"Dave is ideally suited to serve as Motorola's chairman and I am confident that our shareholders will continue to benefit from his industry knowledge and deep understanding of the company," CEO Greg Brown said in a statement.
Dorman has spent nearly 30 years in telecoms, and joined Motorola’s board in 2006.
