RIM survey reveals reliance on mobile devices
Research In Motion (RIM) will continue to target small to medium-sized business owners with its BlackBerry devices, after a survey found that small businesses are becoming increasingly reliant on their mobile devices.
The survey, conducted by Ipsos MORI for RIM, showed that 48% of UK SME owners – classed as having under 250 employees – have won a piece of business while out of the office.
Of the 900 people surveyed in Europe, 69% said reacting quickly to customer queries and communicating regularly were the two most critical aspects of having a successful relationship with customers.
RIM marketing manager Sarah Probert said there was a ‘blurring’ between the consumer and SME markets. ‘It’s easier if you have one device. RIM will be developing handsets that cross over at least at the same pace in coming years.’
