Carphone Warehouse's key to online success
Carphone’s online channel has become the fastest growing part of the business, said multi-channel director Chris Murton.
The retailer’s online presence has been built around a series of acquisitions over the last eight years, including the purchase of e2save, Mobiles.co.uk and Onestopphoneshop.co.uk.
Murton said: ‘I think it is something like 85% of online businesses fail, so us having a three out of three success rate is great.
‘The key has been to build a channel that reaches as many customers as possible, but at their convenience.
‘We have had to compete against some very price-aggressive business models. And I think you have to say we have succeeded by picking up well over 50% of the online market place.’
