DSG to make 400 job cuts at head office
DSG International, the electrical group that owns Currys and PC World, will announce on Thursday that 400 jobs will be cut at head office, according to reports.
News of the decision comes days after it was revealed that Best Buy has bought a 50% stake in Carphone.
DSG chief executive John Browett is said to be behind a shake-up that could see his company roll out stores similar to the 20,000 – 30,000 sq ft outlets that Best Buy are planning to bring to the UK.
However the revamp will also have negative ramifications, as it is understood an announcement will be made on Thursday that up to 25% of the 1,700 staff at DSG will lose their jobs.
A DSG spokesperson refused to comment on the speculation.
