Mitch concludes marathon fundraising effort
Vice President of Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland Mark Mitchinson has raised over £58,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
The campaign, which spanned over four months, was concluded at a ceremony held at Samsung House in Surrey, where Mark presented Sarah Guthrie of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust with the cheque.
The presentation was also attended by the mother and father of the late Richard McGowan, whose daughter Lauren has Cystic Fibrosis and was the inspiration behind Mark's fundraising efforts for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Sarah Guthrie, director of fundraising at the CFT, said: ‘ This is a magnificent sum of money to have been raised by any individual – it is the highest sum of money that has been raised by any London Marathon runner this year for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
’We are really honoured to have Mark's support and the money he has raised will play a significant role in allowing our gene therapy research work for Cystic Fibrosis to continue.
'We are optimistic that this research work will lead us to finding an effective treatment for CF for people like Lauren, who lives with the disease.’
