Samsung to launch P960 DVB-H slider handset

Samsung has announced the launch of the P960, a slider device that comes with DVB-H, the European Union-approved technology for terrestrial mobile broadcasting.

The P960 features a 2.6” QVGA TFT screen, an on-screen TV guide and picture-in-picture to allow users to view two channels at once, and a time-shifting option when a show is interrupted by incoming calls.

Samsung claims the device will allow up to five hours of TV watching time.

The P960 also comes with Bang & Olufsen ICEPower technology as well as a three megapixel camera, a music player and an FM radio.

The Netherlands will take the device first, followed by Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. A UK launch date has not yet been confirmed.
