T-Mobile rattles contract market with £25 Flext
T-Mobile has hammered the contract market over the last few weeks with strong sales of its Flext and Combi contracts, which have pushed tariff prices down, retailers say.
The operator is offering its popular Flext 35 deal for £25 per month, although the deal is only available through its direct channels.
T-Mobile is bundling mid-range handsets like Nokia’s 6300 with the deal. As the devices are not top of the range or new to the market, they have a low enough price to make the deal favourable for T-Mobile.
The operator increased the pressure further in April by introducing its Combi tariff, and sales staff say the contract is proving popular with consumers.
The deals will infuriate rival networks, who have already had to cut prices over the last two years to keep up with smaller players such as T-Mobile and 3, and have seen margins suffer as a result.
