i900 Omnia: Samsung's 3G iPhone spoiler

Details of Samsung’s i900 ‘Omnia’ handset were released in South Korea earlier this week, on the same day that the 3G iPhone was unveiled.

Samsung’s i900, which bares more than a passing resemblance to the Apple device, will be geared towards internet browsing, with a wide 3.2 inch touch screen supported by haptic technology and Windows Mobile's 6.1 operating system.

As well as GPS and HSDPA download capability, the Samsung device will also have a five megapixel camera.

According to reports, the Omnia – which means ‘everything’ in Latin – will be officially unveiled at the CommunicAsia trade fair in Singapore next week.

More details are expected to be released by Samsung UK later this week, and the device is rumoured to be available in Europe some time in July.
