O2 takes box breaking precautions on 3G iPhone
O2 is taking precautions against box breaking on the 3G iPhone after the original version was exploited by box breakers.
The operator has changed the system of buying the device; customers now leave stores connected to O2, whereas before they could connect at home.
It is also understood that O2 will set a high prepay price of around £350 to help guard against the problem.
Jonathan Earle, head of acquisitions for consumer postpay at O2, said: ‘We will price it as competitively as we can without it becoming an opportunity for box breakers.’
