Vodafone is launching a marketing programme, designed to promote the power of accessing the internet via mobiles, on June 16.
The campaign will be visible around transport hubs in UK cities, as well as shopping centres, cricket grounds and other sporting events, throughout the summer.
The marketing drive will depict tickets incorporating the travel theme and use a variety of strap lines all falling under the umbrella message of: ‘Travel the Mobile internet’. Other lines will include: ‘Sit in the Carriage with everyone you know’ to promote Bebo.
An ‘experiential tour’ will complement the campaign in train stations around the country, which will give people the chance to speak to a team of specially trained advisors to learn more about mobile email. It will also allow them to the power of the internet on their mobile while they wait for their train or doing their shopping.
The tour and media activity further reinforces the announcement made by Vodafone UK on May 1st that it would incorporate email and unlimited access to the internet into the monthly price plan.
Ian Shepherd, director of consumer for Vodafone UK, said: ‘This campaign will feature a great deal of variety to help people see how the mobile internet is relevant to them as an individual.
'And coupled with our experiential tour, we hope it will give them the confidence to give it a go, especially when we get them started by setting up their email in less than two minutes.’
