Sony Ericsson has released details of its first HSPA USB mobile broadband modems, the MD400 (pictured) and MD400g.
As well as mobile broadband, the devices combine an M2 Memory Stick Micro and a microSD slot while the MD400g has an in-built GPS receiver which automatically shows the user’s current location and links directly to Google maps.
The devices allow for download speeds of 7.2Mbps and upload speeds of 2.0Mbps.
Marketing director for mobile computing at Sony Ericsson Johan Tysklind said: ‘The MD400 and MD400g are high performance and stylish devices that enable you to have all your essentials at hand even when you are out of reach from broadband at home or in the office.
Both devices are compatible with MS Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Mac OS-X, and will be available in ‘exquisite ebony’ or ‘lustrous white’ in the fourth quarter of this year.
