Vodafone calls for £55m media agencies pitch

Vodafone has started a review of its UK media planning and buying account, which is believed to be worth around £55m.

In a statement, Vodafone said it regularly reviews its agencies to ensure it maintains the best in strategic talent. The account is currently held by OMD UK.

A spokeswoman for Vodafone said: ‘OMD has held the contract for the past seven years and has produced excellent executions around high-profile campaigns such as “how are you?” and “make the most of now”, so [OMD] will be one of the agencies invited to pitch.’

It follows a restructure at Vodafone earlier this year that has led to a number of key marketing departures.

Head of brand and marketing Dominic Chambers left in February, followed by chief marketing officer Tim Yates and head of direct marketing Richard Broadbent.
