BenQ, a provider of networked digital lifestyle devices, has unveiled the BenQ E72, a lightweight business smartphone that connects via both mobile and Wi-Fi networks.
The BenQ E72 is a Windows Mobile 6 device that allows the user to move between GSM and Wi-Fi networks without dropping a call.
The device provides instant contact via text and voice, email and IM, with the Windows Mobile 6 software giving access to mobile versions of applications such as Outlook, and Windows Live plus applications unique to mobile, including Smart Traveller.
Outside of work mode, the E72 enables access to Web 2.0 on-the-go, which allows the user to download videos, go on social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace, and access news or blog updates with the RSS feature.
These features are packed into a device weighing 90g and measuring 13mm in width. It comes in a sleek black finish with a striking high gloss and red detailing.
The device, which is the first of several new BenQ handsets set to be launched in the UK, will initially be available exclusively on BT Fusion.
