Motorola joins pixel race with eight-megapixel camera
Motorola is set to announce a new mobile, codenamed Alexander, which will feature an eight-megapixel camera, according to reports.
It follows the launch of Sony Ericsson’s C905 8.1-megapixel camera phone earlier this month, with LG and Samsung also expected to be lining up eight-megapixel propositions.
Last week Motorola announced the launch of its first ever five-megapixel camera phone, the Motozine ZN5, and reports claim that this new device will be an improvement on the camera front. There are also suggestions that it will be a touch-screen device.
Motorola previously failed to produce a five-megapixel camera phone, with the 3.2-megapixel Z10 its best camera to date.
The manufacturer has started to break the mould with the ZN5, on which it has collaborated with camera manufacturer Kodak.
The ZN5 (pictured) is the first device to carry the Motozine name, which is to become the new label for all of Motorola’s multimedia-optimised devices.
