PC World successfully enters the dongle contract race

PC World has started selling mobile broadband contracts in store for the first time.

The retailer unveiled offers on Vodafone, T-Mobile and 3 last week, and a PC World staffer said that Orange contracts could also be available soon.

PC World has given staff special training to sell the contracts, which according to staff have sold well so far.

One staffer said: ‘We’ve been selling around two contracts a day, which is a pretty good start for a new offer. They’re such good offers they more or less sell themselves if the customer’s needs are right.’

The move to sell contract dongles has come after PC World reported brisk trading on prepay dongles, which were launched in stores at the end of 2007.
