Report names mobile as the least green industry
The mobile industry has been named the least green in a report looking at consumer perceptions of the environmental impacts of brands.
Research by Cohn & Wolfe PR and Landor Associates into green brands included feedback from over 1,000 respondents to a questionnaire in the UK.
Sustainability communications expert Geoff Beattie from Cohn & Wolfe said: ‘We looked at different industries and it is a big surprise to see the mobile industry come bottom.
‘The mobile phone companies do have some great environmental initiatives. Nokia, for example, has one of the best environment programs, but you have to find a way to connect with people on a personal level.
‘You have to put your campaigns in people’s faces to change their perceptions.’
