Tag Heuer Meridiist mobile phone nears release

A new style mobile phone from Tag Heuer, called the Meridiist, is nearing its final release date.

The new mobile phone has been spotted undergoing tests by the USA's official independent organisation charged with regulating interstate and international communications, the Federal Communications Commission.

According to the Uncrate website, the new design will fetch a tidy sum. $5,000 will buy you a chassis sporting stainless steel and a Sapphire Crystal OLED screen. The screen itself spans 1.9in which is graded as QVGA.

You also receive a  secondary OLED display, rated at 96 x 76 pixels. A built-in camera is apparently included but it will be no more than 2MP.

Added to the feature list is Bluetooth and leather or rubber trim with a wholly disgraceful option of crocodile skin for the amoral users out there.

The above might lead some to question just where the money for the handset has been spent. You'll find no answers here, however.
