O2 takes 4,000 Vodafone and Orange business connections

O2 has taken 4,000 business connections from Orange and Vodafone after winning a contract with Homeserve plc, a provider of home emergency service.

The operator will provide voice and mobile data services in a three-year deal. As part of the service, O2 will route calls via a virtual private network to help reduce call costs for Homeserve.

Homeserve said that O2’s ‘excellent’ UK network coverage was a ‘significant’ factor in its selection as a mobile partner.

Ben Dowd, business sales director at O2 UK, said of the deal: ‘Mobile technology can be used for so much more than simple communication.

'As a business, customer service is at our core and we are delighted to be working with Homeserve to help them provide the very best service to their customers.’
