Quarter of dongle customers dissatisfied with product

One in four dongle customers have complained about their product, according to a report from a respected research firm last week.

The YouGov report also suggested that the dissatisfied customers wouldn’t renew their contracts, with the main reasons cited as expense, speed, coverage and usage limits.

The issue comes as market statistics show that the steep rise in dongle sales is starting to flatten, although senior sources at networks are expecting another spike ahead of Christmas, as operators start bundling laptops with Sims.

Despite the gloomy assessment of the dongle market, YouGov added that one in eight mobile broadband users have replaced their fixed-line service with a dongle.

YouGov’s ‘DongleTrack Report’ was based on interviews with 1,050 mobile broadband users and 2,050 non-users in the UK.
