King back to Motorola after one month Samsung stay
James King has re-joined Motorola just days after it
emerged that he had left his role as marketing director at Samsung.
King parted Samsung for personal reasons and will join Motorola from this
Monday (1 September) as European marketing director, having been the company’s marketing
manager during his previous stint.
Samsung celebrated the capture of King as a major coup, as it announced three
new high level appointments. The manufacturer had also hired Derek Williamson
as general manager, who King was intended to report too, as well as new head of
product management Matthew Brum, who joined from Sony Ericsson two weeks
Mark Mitchinson, Samsung VP for UK and Ireland, said of
King’s departure: ‘James’ personal circumstances were very unfortunate and have made it
quite difficult. I got on very well with him personally and professionally and
wish him all the best for the future.’
Samsung is currently in the process of starting
the recruitment process afresh.
