O2 takes broadband into the indirect channel

O2’s fixed broadband service will be available at Carphone Warehouse in the coming weeks.

It will be O2’s first foray of fixed broadband into the indirect channel, and Carphone will initially be the only independent telecoms store to stock the O2 ‘takeaway broadband’ product.

The broadband was available in O2 stores from 4 August. The ‘takeaway’ aspect means customers can buy the broadband for £30 and set it up in their own time. The initial £30 is then credited to the first broadband bill.

O2 broadband narrowly missed the Which? ‘best buys’ list with a 79% customer satisfaction rating.

O2’s UK CEO, Ronan Dunne, told band into the in May that fixed-line broadband was a central part of O2’s current strategy.
