Samsung gets tough with new handset

Samsung has announced the release of another new tough phone, the B2700, to add to its growing range of hard-hitting handsets.

The phone is water and dust resistant and includes a flashlight, compass, altimeter and pedometer marketing to those who seek a resilient ‘Boy Scout’ handset

The B2700 is an improvement spec wise on the rugged ‘M110 Solid’ released in January. It is Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and has a 2mp camera and 30 MB flash memory, microSD card slot.

It also includes a range of entertainment features including an MP3 player and MPEG4/3gp video player plus a FM radio.

As well as the M110 Solid, the device will compete in the same market as the JCB Toughphone and the Condurro LM801.
