Blyk reaches 200,000 customer milestone
Advertising funded MVNO, Blyk announced yesterday it had reached 200,000 customers. The company, which has been live in the UK for almost a year, had aimed for 100,000 within the first year but managed to double that.
‘We have proven that it works,’ Pekka Ala-Pietilä, CEO and co-founder of Blyk said yesterday at an analyst round table event in London.
Blyk targets 16 to 24 year olds offering them free text messages and voice minutes in exchange for receiving advertising.
So far the company has served over 1,000 ads from more than 100 advertisers.
